Yeah, I know there are seven million left-wing blogs out there, but what harm can just one more do? Besides, I'm not a raving, far-lefter, just more or less left. I signed onto the idea that the bill of rights is a good thing long ago, so I can't be right-wing, or even moderate, that's for sure. Oddly, though, having a soft spot for the SECOND amendment can bring your let-wing credentials into question. Go figure.
Okay, here's me. I am a Mainer of old Maine stock, but have spent enough time elsewhere to keep me from being too provincial. I am politically active in various ways, but I do not hold elected office. I am a polytheist. That means, in my case, that I believe in ALL gods. Even yours, though that doesn't obligate you to believe in any of mine. Around the Winter Solstice, you can count on me to get pissed off about the so-called war on Christmas. I have a step-son who has done one tour in Iraq, and who will soon go back for another, so the stupid war is very personal to me.
If you want to help turn up the heat on Bush's cheerleaders, -er, I mean Maine's senators, check out the Americans Against Escalation in Iraq. They want to convince Senator Collins in particular that her constituents want us out of there. It's like global warming, I guess; we can have Muslims plotting to bomb our airports 'til the cows come home, and somehow that doesn't prove anything, like we're making enemies instead of deterring them. The country's on fire right now, but global warming is Gore's delusion. Riiiiiight.

Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging - though the black background, white text makes it a bit hard to read. I like your writing style.
